Zakk Wylde kicks ass in LA
I have a pretty diversified musical collection, owning and listening everything from classical to heavy metal. Mostly though, I really like listening to awesome guitar players — for years this meant Eddie Van Halen. Eddie just so completely ruled the guitar world, but I found that Zakk Wylde has a style that is so unique he must be close to the top of the guitar world these days.
Probably best known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne over the past 20 years, Zakk is a rocker that will kick your ass with his music and then pull out an acoustic or classical guitar and play something so beautiful, you can’t believe it came from the same guy.
I went to see Zakk’s band, Black Label Society, in Los Angeles on a recent trip and I wasn’t disappointed. Zakk isn’t the type that comes out and jumps all over the stage making an ass of himself, he comes out and plays his music — believe me that’s enough.
I’ve been to quite a few concerts, but I have never seen such intensity from a crowd or from the band. Everyone was into the music and the whole night.
