I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I mean it. I can’t remember the last time I sat down with a good book and did nothing but read for hours. That’s not to say that I don’t read all the time, I do, but usually it’s from the Internet, not from a book.
My son and daughter read books all the time — maybe 5-10 a week. My wife tries to read, but she is very busy with work and volunteering at the school, so it’s not often she gets a chance anymore. Me, I search the Web and find tons of stuff that I need.
I was thinking about this tonight because of my trip to Chapters over the weekend. I guess it all depends on the type of things you read. I tend to want to read Mac OS X Server guides and Unix guides, which is easier to find than the latest mystery novel. But now you can buy those on iTunes too.
I see many computer books in the stores, but I wonder if they still sell. Most of the information in computer books I see are also available for free on the Web.
