It’s Wednesday night and the Photo Marketing Association trade show is over for another year. The show was much busier than I thought it would be, which is a good sign for the industry. I also took the opportunity to meet up with some old friends and meet a new one — or at least put a face to the email address.
It’s been a long time since I saw Scott Kelby and Dave Moser (MacDesign), but on Monday afternoon I saw them both at the Adobe both. Scott was giving a session on Photoshop to a packed crowd at the Adobe booth (I guess people will show up to see you when you’re considered one of the best in your field).
Dave and I had a few minutes to chat and later that night Dave, Scott and brother Jeff all headed out for a relaxing dinner. Jeff’s a great guy, but I don’t know how he puts up with those two all the time!
Earlier this week I got an email from a familiar name to me in the Mac industry, Joseph Japes from Econ Technologies. Joe lives in the area and was coming to PMA on Wednesday — we got together this morning for a few hours of talking and fun.
I actually got my days mixed up and showed up at the prearranged meeting place yesterday. Needless to say he didn’t show up, but I was 24 hours early.
Joe is a lot of fun and we had a good time talking about the Mac industry, our kids, the iPod and lots of other topics. Turns out Joe’s kids and mine are around the same age and share the same love of the iPod — Joe and I do too.
It was a great time in Orlando, but tomorrow morning I head home to my sick wife and two kids that just got over being sick. Maybe I’ll make Monique some soup or something to make her feel better.
