Are we are all just comfortably numb? Last night on the iTunes Music Store I bought Pink Floyd’s “The Wall,” an album I haven’t listened to in a long, long time. This afternoon while I made lunch for my wife and son I started listening to it and just like the first time, it drew me in.
Monique and I ate in relative silence while “The Wall” played in the background. The dark retrospective lyrics of a tortured man and the haunting music — it just wouldn’t let us go.
I remember watching the movie years ago and it was okay — I don’t remember a whole lot about it anymore and I kind of prefer it that way. Listening to the album let’s you think about whatever you want to, which is better than having a scripted film in your mind.

It is indeed. Dark Side of the Moon still ranks as my favorite Floyd album, though.

P.S. — The Wall is better when you’re on acid.

Funny, Monique said the same thing — Dark side is her favortite. I like it and Wish you were here, but the Wall was just so deep.

Comfortably numb is one of my all-time favorite songs. And Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favorite albums. Takes me back to my college days when it just came out.
I saw the movie The Wall, and it almost ruined the music for me. They should stick to music.
Same thing with Tommy from the Who. The movie just didn’t do anything for me.

That’s exactly why I’m glad I can’t remember much of the movie anymore.
