SURPRISE!! Never think Cancun will go smoothly
ByWell we arrived at the hotel as planned, no big deal at all — unfortunately that’s where “as planned” stopped for the day. We had ordered an ocean view room, but the hotel said we had the Lagoon view. I really didn’t need this.
After arguing with the guy at the counter I upgraded to a Jr. Suite and grabbed the luggage and went to the room. The clerk said we had a jacuzzi and one of the very large decks on the corner of the hotel. Suffice it to say that’s not at all what I found when I got to the room.
Angry, I went back down stairs and he was waiting for me — “oh that’s not a suite?” I gave him a dirty look and he gave me the keys to a suite.
Now, when we went to the suite, there was only one bed — that would be fine if we didn’t have kids, but there is no way four of us were going to go into one bed and there wasn’t enough room to bring in another.
Even more angry, I went downstairs, got a refund on the upgrade and took a regular room.
The room is larger than the suite and has two beds. The guy said we still had to pay for an upgrade, but after speaking with the manager, we got it for free.
