A great day was had by all. Nicole finally broke her bad mood, so everyone enjoyed the day. It was a good thing to because it was our first off-site day since we’ve been in Mexico.
We took a ferry to the Isle of Women, a sacred place that Mexican women were sent to so they could touch the fertility stone. It’s a pretty cool place — we rented a golf cart and visited a turtle sanctuary where there are turtles of every size. They even had an all white turtle — I didn’t even know those existed.
Next we went to a shopping area and Len and I had some beer and a burger — it was damn good! The rest of the family joined us soon after for some food and beer; a well deserved respite from the heat of Mexico.
We spent the last couple of hours driving around the town in our golf carts, which was a lot of fun. There is so much to see in the back streets of these cities that you don’t often get to.
We ended up catching the ferry back to the mainland and getting a bus back tot he hotel without incident. I think everyone had a really good time.
