I know how messed up this sounds, but my dog Twiggy managed to take the site down for several hours today. A thunder storm overnight drove the poor dog crazy and she ended up in the server room downstairs.
Like most dogs, loud noises like Fireworks and storms sends them scurrying for cover. When the storm started Twiggy managed to get herself under the small shelf I keep the server on, tore out some cables and took everything offline.
We found her this morning, still under the server caught up in cables that had her trapped. It took a couple of minutes to get her unhooked from everything and then get the server back online.

Poor Twiggy. She must have been terrified. First the storm then being trapped.

Sorry to hear that Twiggy was so upset. My otherwise “fearless” cat, Bozo, cowers at the sound of thunder. So….the forums are not responding at the moment I’m writing this. More problems?

Reminds me of a dog that Bonnie told me about, from when she was a kid. Whenever there were fireworks or thunderstorms, it would hide in the bathroom and chew the bolts off the toilet.

Help Im stuck in a Blog and can’t get to the Forum.

It seems the forums are working for those on the West Coast, but not the East Coast. In fact, if I VPN into Macworld, I can access the forums just fine.
Looks like it’s just a matter of getting the DNS changes to proagate.

Pour doggy! At least, no permanent damage was done to the servers…

Poor Twiggy!
I thought maybe you had taught her to reboot the server. That could come in handy sometime.

I don’t want her to every reboot the server again

You should make Twiggy a mod on your blog page

Yeah, if someone does something wrong, she’ll just pull the plug on the server. Maybe she could be a mod for the whole internet

Poor Twiggy - Luckily my two dogs are good in storms/fireworks
But I know its a big problem for a lot of dogs and so many are spooked and escape from back yards etc never to be seen again

We always brought our dogs inside during fireworks. I feel bad for the dogs that are left outside that scared.
