Hey Trudeau, more terrorists need your help

Posted on July 9, 2005 | Filed Under Canada, Terrorism

First of all, I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the families of all those affected by this week’s cowardly bombings in London. I was shocked and outraged that so many innocent people were once again the target of extremists.

The thoughts of the terrorists quickly brought anger and frustration that some Canadians are openly supporting known terrorists in Canada. Alexandre Trudeau, the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, has offered his support for a man the government considers to be a threat to national security.

Writers Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis are also openly supporting terrorists in this country, going so far as to offer a ridiculous bond for his release.

So Trudeau, Klein and Lewis, what now? Why don’t you take your bond money and fly to London — have a chat with the families of the dead rail passengers and tell them how you feel about supporting terrorists.

Maybe you could offer any of the terrorists arrested over there a $50 bond and of course, the promise you’re sure he’ll be a good boy.

Despite the support these three dumbasses openly show to terrorists in Canada, I want my friends in London to know that this is not the feeling of all Canadians. I do not support terrorism.

It’s become quite trendy to support terrorists and/or their cause. There are some so blinded with hatred for Bush that they actually condone and cheer these actions. I’m appalled.

Terrorists for the most part are cowards. Picking on innocent folks going about their day to day business makes no sense. I noticed quite a number of Muslim names listed for the dead and injured in London. So killing folks of your own religion is going to get you to Valhalla? This is supposed to give some message to the West?

Every time one of these attacks happen my sympathy for their root cause decreases more and more. If you want my sympathy go pick on a politician, not ordinary people.

As for Trudeau … if such a tragedy ever happened here it would be poetic justice if he was a victim.

While I don’t specifically support terrorists, I must reserve judgement until a clear agenda is defined, understood and dealt with. Simply running a “war on terrorism” is ridiculous. Until the policies of the U.S. and its allies change, we can expect more tragedy… maybe even here, in Canada. Paul Martin is beginning to dangerously shoot his mouth off about support for the “war on terrorism” - NOT a good thing!

      I’ve an idea.

Let EVERY country get the hell out of the Middle East. Round up EVERY single known terrorist or sympathizer and ship them back to where they came from post haste. Stop the sale of arms and the flow of money “back home”.

Ship the likes of Trudeau back with them since he seems to think these folks are “cool”.

Think any of these things will happen?

marg, I agree with your first post.

Alec, I don’t disagree with your point at all — there has to be a clear strategy to deal with this whole mess. However, lobbying for the release of a known terrorist is an irresponsible and undefenable position in any free country.
