Guitar playing still difficult with injured finger

Guitar Add comments

Since I got home from Boston, I have been trying to exercise my pinky that was injured during a night out on the town. Still, when I try to reach those notes and stretch it hurts like hell.

The good news is that I can actually move the damn thing — for a while I wasn’t sure what was wrong with it. The swelling has gone down quite a bit, but it’s still black at the tip.

I’m sure with the way things are going that it will be fine in the next few days. I’m looking forward to ripping off some Zakk Wylde riffs again.

Glad the finger is getting better. Give it time.

It seems to be going up and down the past few days. For some reason it’s starting to hurt again and the blackness is not going away at all.

Keep practicing on that finger to keep it moving. We guitar players cant afford to stop playing with pinky or no pinky. Here’s a pic of my axes, I know youll appreciate one em at least. Good luck

    Nice guitars!

I have the same Zakk Wylde one. I also have a Jackson, Fender Strat, Kramer and a Yamaha acoustic. The Les Paul is by far my favorite.

The finger is doing much better now, but it’s still stiff. I’ve been playing as much as possible to keep it moving, but every once in a while one of those stretches makes it ache.

    Thanks for the pic.

A while back i fell on my ring finger of my fretting hand.
The nail fell off but another grew in. The only problem with this nail is that is looks shorter and makes my finger look funny.
It is still swollen a bit but i am going for an X-Ray soon so i hope it will heal back again and see what the Doctor tells me. I think it’s the cartlage(if there is any in the finger). It’s been discouraging having this finger because everytime i look at it, it makes me think if i would be better with a normal finger.

    Hope your finger heals.

It took much longer than I thought, but it feels great now. I’m playing as if nothing ever happened now.
