Feeling much better now
Posted by: | CommentsWow, what a rough week that was. I knew last weekend that I was starting to get sick, but it turned into one of those sicknesses where all of your bones ache and you just want to sleep all the time.
I was alone for much of the week at MacCentral, which made things even worse. Peter was in New York, so I did the majority of the writing and posting, but all I really wanted to do is sleep.
I sat in my favorite chair with a blanket over me and my computer on my lap. Monday was bad, but Tuesday was the worst. That just happened to be the day that Apple and Nike launched their new products and Quark announced the release of QuarkXPress 7.
I’m feeling pretty good now though. I still have a cough and my right ear is plugged a bit, but it’s a hell of a lot better than this time last week.
Sometimes I like to wear stretchy pants
Posted by: | CommentsEvery once in a while a movie comes along that just makes you laugh at everything. I found have the next movie that's going to do that for me — Nacho Libre.
This movie looks hilarious. And to make hilarious into just downright crazy, the star of the movie is Jack Black. You have to take a look at the trailer — in one of the scenes Jack is dressed in tights and this kid is just staring at him and he says basically, “Sometimes I like to wear stretchy pants.” I’ve been walking around all day saying that — in restaurants, getting gas, in front of Nicole’s friends; basically whereever I can.
Jack has another great hit on his hands with this one. His last couple of movies were pretty good — at least Jack was good.
We are going to take Michael and some of his friends to this movie for his birthday in a couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to it.
Going downhill fast
Posted by: | CommentsI woke up this morning with a slight problem with my sinuses. I took some Advil and didn’t think about it too much for the rest of the day. The way I’m feeling now, I guess the Advil has worn off.
I’ve never had much trouble with sinus colds — usually that mess has been for Monique. Today, though, I got hit and it doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.
I was sitting at the kitchen table doing some work this afternoon and I could feel it getting worse by the minute. I took some more medicine, but I fear it’s not going to help.
I’m sitting in my favorite chair right now feeling like shit. I hope the medicine kicks in soon.

The Ozzman Cometh … to the 2nd stage at OzzFest
Posted by: | CommentsThe Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, has already said that he will only headline select shows at this year’s OzzFest tour, but now Ozzy said he will headline one show on the second stage. The lucky show will be the July 8 stop at San Bernardino, CA’s Hyundai Pavilion of Glen Helen.
Typically, the second stage is where the hard and heavy action goes on during OzzFest and this year will be no different … well a little different because Ozzy will be there too.
“After 10 years of headlining OZZfest’s main-stage I think it’s time for a change,” said Osbourne. “I haven’t had a chance to play this close to an audience in years and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it. So look out LA.”
Headlining the second stage for most of this year’s tour will be Black Label Society headed by Zakk Wylde. Other acts on the second stage include Unearth, All That Remains, Full Blown Chaos and others.
Zakk Wylde’s “Shot to Hell” finished
Posted by: | CommentsZakk Wylde’s follow-up to the hugely successful “Mafia” is pretty much completed. “Shot to Hell” will be released to the public in early July, just over a year since Mafia first made its appearance.
The news came in a recent interview in Guitar Player magazine, where they met Zakk in the studio while he was putting the finishing touches on the new album.
Zakk’s new album isn’t the only thing he’s working on. The day they did the interview at the studio in Hollywood, Zakk said he was heading over to Ozzy’s to start writing songs for his new album.
It’s going to be a good year for Zakk fans!
Gretzky — you moron — see what talent can do for Canada!
Posted by: | CommentsI have always been a fan of Wayne Gretzky — he is one of the most amazing players to ever lace up a pair of skates. However, his pathetic decisions in choosing the Canadian Olympic team has convinced me that its time Canada kicked him out of hockey in the this country.
For Canadians hockey is it — that is our national pride. I felt a tremendous amount of disgust for our hockey program when Gretzky chose Todd Bertuzi over so many other talented players in the NHL.
Just look at the list of players that he left out. Topping the list is obviously Sidney Crosby, the Nova Scotia born rookie phenom. Why wasn’t Crosby picked? Because he didn’t have the experience that Gretzky wanted — What? Are you completely stupid!!
When someone like Crosby comes to the NHL and performs like he did, you don’t have a choice but to bring him to the Olympics — well I guess you do if you’re a complete idiot. The Olympics is a place to show off a countries top athletes, not the old dead horses like we did with our hockey team.
Crosby is just one example. There is also Patrice Bergeron and don’t forget Brad Boyes –both playing for the Boston Bruins.
Let’s take a look at the World Hockey Championships currently going on. Scoring leaders for the tournament are: 1. Sidney Crosby 2. Patrice Bergeron 4. Jason Williams 6. Brad Boyes.
So four of the top six scorers are from Canada!
So who did Gretzky choose instead of these high-caliber players? Todd Bertuzzi. Yep, that’s right, Todd Bertuzzi. A goon among goons that revels in putting young players out of the league with cheap shots to the back of the head represents Canada in the most prestigious hockey tournament in the world.
Did Bertuzzi score? No! But according to Gretzky, he waited his turn and Crosby has lots of chances left to play in the Olympics. Yeah, Wayne that’s exactly what the Olympics are all about you moron.
I can only assume some of the bets your wife was laying down prior to the Olympics were against Canada. That is the only reason I can think of for making the idiotic decisions that you made.
It’s time to move on Wayne, retire from hockey — at least don’t get involved in Canadian hockey anymore. You obviously have no pride for this country or our hockey program.
A Ferrari hotel?
Posted by: | CommentsYeah, baby — that’s what I’m talking about!! While it might seem extravagant, a Ferrari branded hotel may be in the cards if Casino mogul Steve Wynn has his way.
Wynn, who just finished the luxurious Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas that cost one or two billion, is reportedly in talks with the Chairman of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, to build a hotel with the Ferrari name.
The hotel won’t be Wynn’s first dealing with the Ferrari. His Las Vegas hotel features a Ferrari dealership that Wynn said sells more Ferrari’s than any other dealership in the world. You can go take a look if you’re in town, but it’ll cost you $10 to enter the showroom.
Ferrari signed a deal last year for a developer to build a Ferrari theme park in Abu Dhabi. The park will have everything you would expect — a racetrack, rides, hotels, shops and homes.
Beatles lose lawsuit against Apple
Posted by: | CommentsWell, well — decision day is here and the Beatles lost their case against Apple. I don’t know what I expected, but I was kind of surprised that the decision was so succinct.
The Beatles parent company sued Apple because of a 1991 agreement that said Apple would not use its logo with music-related products. Seems like a violation, but under the law the judge said no.
Good for him. Steve Jobs was happy too — he even invited the Beatles to join iTunes. What a good guy that Steve is.
It’s not over yet though — the Beatles will appeal the decision. I guess that means we won’t see any Beatles on iTunes anytime soon.
Me on television playing with Roger Daltrey?
Posted by: | CommentsYes, that’s right. If you’re Canadian you may have seen the clip on the CTV news — it was about going to the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Hollywood, Calif. and playing with The Who’s Roger Daltrey at the House of Blues.
It’s self explanatory, so take it away clip:
