My Airport Express died

Posted by: Jim Dalrymple | Comments (5)

It’s a day of mourning in my household. One of my favorite Apple products died overnight and with all of the reading I’ve done this morning, there is no way to fix it.

I use the AirPort to connect to the Internet, of course, but more than that I use the AirPort Express to play music over my stereo system. That’s what I’m going to miss the most.

I tried all of the easy fixes for the Express, but the fact is the lights are out so it’s definitely a hardware problem. I tried to plug it into another outlet just in case, but no luck.

Zakk Wylde vs. Slayer is the headline emblazoned on the upcoming issue of Guitar World magazine. “The masters of guitar brewtality vie for world domination.”

Slayer’s Kerry King gives a video lesson, but there wasn’t a lot of information on what role Zakk is playing in the magazine.

Regardless, in my opinion, if it came down to a battle Zakk would win hands down. Not that Kerry isn’t a good guitar player, but it’s just not my thing.

After his manager responded to the 357 Customs deal gone bad, Black Label Society front man Zakk Wylde has personally responded on his Web site. I can only imagine that if Zakk is as angry as he sounds, the problems should be resolved.

Beserkers, nobody is more upset by 357’s unscrupulous activities than I am, and I assure you that I did not know about or approve any of these activities. That is why I have directed my attorneys to take all steps necessary to address this situation. I realize it has been frustrating for you waiting for information, and as soon as the attorneys report to me next week, I will update you with a more complete statement.

Strength, Determination, Merciless, Forever.

Zakk Wylde

I had no doubt Zakk would be pissed about this and step up when the time came.

First there was all kinds of good news — Zakk Wylde said his new CD would be released in July and a new live DVD from Europe would also be released in July. Then came the bad news — first the DVD was pushed back and now the new CD is being pushed back until September.

Black Label Society’s new record label, Roadrunner confirmed the news to Blabbermouth yesterday. No reason was given for the delay.

I was really looking forward to a hard rocking summer of All Zakk, all the time. The one good thing — the CD is scheduled to be released on my birthday, September 19.

Zakk Wylde’s manager has responded to the 357 Customs debacle that has affected a good many Black Label Society fans. Bob Ringe, Zakk’s manager, said Zakk had nothing to do with the offer himself and that his lawyers have contacted 357 Customs.

357 Customs offered users quite an incredible deal. With the purchase of one of the three new Zakk Wylde diecast/gift certificate packs, customers would receive a free Epiphone Zakk Wylde signature model Les Paul guitar. You could chose from the Zakk Wylde Bullseye, Zakk Wylde Sawblade, or Zakk Wylde Camo.

However, orders quickly became backed up and while some users did get their guitars, many more did not.

Ringe said that 357 has promised to fulfill all of the orders made during the promotion, so everyone will eventually get their guitars. While no timeframe was given for the delivery, Ringe said Zakk’s lawyers will be monitoring the situation until it’s resolved.

Police in Ontario arrested 17 terror suspects on Saturday with enough ammonium nitrate fertilizer to make a bomb three times as devastating as the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Experts concluded the group planned on making several bombs and picking high-rise targets in the Toronto area.

I have to congratulate the Canadian police for thwarting these idiots before they actually carried out their plan of destruction.

Lawyers for the terrorists actually protested the amount of extra security at the courthouse and wanted it diminished before their next court appearance. Well of course they do — how the hell are they going to break them out with snipers on the roof waiting to shoot the bastards dead.

The terrorists’ lawyer was in court with Aly Hindy, a Toronto imam and friend of the highly controversial Khadr family, who have well-established connections to al-Qaeda, according to the Globe and Mail.

Hindy said he knew several of the men and that they weren’t terrorists. Oh well, we will just have to let the bastards go then, won’t we.

Hindy also said that the “charges are to keep George Bush happy, that’s all.”

What the hell are you talking about? What about the three tons of explosives and ignition switches they found?

This is really pissing me off. We have terrorists in this country and they are

actively plotting to kill innocent people and what’s worse we have people openly defending them! There is no defense for what these guys were doing.

Hindy, the lawyer and the Khadr family should be put in jail and left to rot like the scum rats they are.
