One of those sick days

Posted by: Jim Dalrymple | Comments (4)

I hate feeling like this. My chest is all tight and I feel like I’m coughing up a lung.

This question was on a survey form that we had to fill out for Nicole’s school. What kind of dumbass question is that?

Not a bad start for the Bruins

Posted by: Jim Dalrymple | Comments (0)

Boston Bruins LogoI’m certainly not ready to admit I’m wrong yet, but the Bruins are doing pretty well so far. Their West Coast road trip is over and they came out with a winning record.

The Bruins lost to the Stars and the Ducks, but they picked up wins against the Coyotes, Kings and the Sharks. They were shaky in a few of the games with Tim Thomas holding them in a couple of games.

I think the goalie situation is the most surprising. Manny was brought in to be the number 1 netminder, but he hasn’t done very well so far. He let in four goals against the stars and six against the Kings. Even though they won the Kings game, it still wasn’t a good showing.

Marc Savard has started off well, as has Bergeron and Kessel. Milan Lucic has be doing pretty good too, but Glen Murray is absent so far.

Coming off a road trip with a winning record is always a good thing. We’ll see how they do at home starting next week.

A $1.2 billion iPhone lawsuit

Posted by: Jim Dalrymple | Comments (0)

You have got to be kidding me! These two people are allowed to bring a lawsuit against Apple and AT&T for $1.2 billion?

I don’t agree with a lot of what Apple has been doing with the iPhone and third-party applications, but I do agree that they should be able to lock the iPhone if they want. They have been very open about their deal with AT&T, so if you buy the phone, you know you’ll be using AT&T — deal with it.

But come on, $1.2 billion? These people and their lawyers should be made to pay for being so friggin’ retarded.

Boston trip wasn’t so smooth

Posted by: Jim Dalrymple | Comments (0)

Okay, so my trip to Boston yesterday was great — until I tried to get home. I said last night that my plane was delayed an hour, but it was delayed two more times before we finally left. I was getting really pissed off by the time I got on the plane, but I did calm down when I got home. It was 4:00 am when I got to bed.

Leaving Boston

Posted by: Jim Dalrymple | Comments (1)

This was a really quick trip. I got up this morning at 4:00 am and got to the airport for my flight to Boston. After I meeting downtown and a few beer with friends, I headed back to the airport to go home. It’s 7:00 pm now and the flight has been delayed by one hour.

iphone.jpgNow that Apple has effectively killed third-party application development for the iPhone, its competitors are touting how open they are. And you know what, it’s a damn good strategy for them to take.

Nokia and Microsoft have both come out saying that they are open and that’s the best way to be. “We believe the best devices have no limits. That’s why we’ve left the Nokia NSeries open. Open to applications. Open to Widgets. Open to anything,” says the homepage of Nokia’s new Web site.

Now before anyone gets all pissed off and starts sending me friggin’ email that I’ll delete, think about this. Apple had a whole community of people writing applications for the iPhone and it didn’t have to support them at all. What was the one thing Apple did do for them? Kick them in the teeth.

How to make people angry

Posted by: Jim Dalrymple | Comments (5)

I am so good at it. See here. The sad part is, I don’t write the stuff to make them mad, but they want to torture me anyway.
