A $1.2 billion iPhone lawsuit

You have got to be kidding me! These two people are allowed to bring a lawsuit against Apple and AT&T for $1.2 billion?

I don’t agree with a lot of what Apple has been doing with the iPhone and third-party applications, but I do agree that they should be able to lock the iPhone if they want. They have been very open about their deal with AT&T, so if you buy the phone, you know you’ll be using AT&T—deal with it.

But come on, $1.2 billion? These people and their lawyers should be made to pay for being so friggin’ retarded.

Competitors take advantage of closed iPhone

iphone.jpgNow that Apple has effectively killed third-party application development for the iPhone, its competitors are touting how open they are. And you know what, it’s a damn good strategy for them to take.

Nokia and Microsoft have both come out saying that they are open and that’s the best way to be. “We believe the best devices have no limits. That’s why we’ve left the Nokia NSeries open. Open to applications. Open to Widgets. Open to anything,” says the homepage of Nokia’s new Web site.

Now before anyone gets all pissed off and starts sending me friggin’ email that I’ll delete, think about this. Apple had a whole community of people writing applications for the iPhone and it didn’t have to support them at all. What was the one thing Apple did do for them? Kick them in the teeth.

How to make people angry

I am so good at it. See here. The sad part is, I don’t write the stuff to make them mad, but they want to torture me anyway.

Can you post from an iPhone?

Well the short answer is you betcha! I’m writing and posting this directly on my iPhone. I logged into the Wordpress admin interface using Safari and just started typing away. Now, is this a huge deal? Well yeah, because it shows how much more you can actually do with the iPhone.
